Book 2 Teaser :)

All of my concentration focuses on the stage near the back wall. Beneath the low lighting, Micha sings one of his own songs, playing the guitar, with his head tipped down, and his hair hangs in his aqua eyes. My hands ache to sketch him, tangle through his hair, feel the softness of his lips.

The band plays in the background and it takes my breath away as his lyrics flow over my body,

“The silence in your eyes is more than I can take.
Look at me for once and see how my heart aches.
You keep me alive, you keep me breathing.
All I want, all I need is you.”

The room blends away and it’s just him and me. I hear Lila move away from me, probably heading to the bar to order a drink. It takes Micha only seconds to find me in the middle of the crowded room, like our hearts sense each other. He tries to maintain a straight face as he spills out the lyrics, but a trace of a smile reveals at his lips.

He finishes out the last set with a final chord, and then quickly turns to Naomi, who’s wearing a tight black dress and knee-high boots. Micha says something to her as he hands her the guitar.  She nods, tucking her black hair behind her ear, as he hops off stage, and his long legs stride for me. He shoves through the crowd and doesn’t slow down until he scoops me up in his arms, not caring that there are a ton of people watching us.

I fasten my legs around his waist and he kisses me intensely, stealing every ounce of oxygen away from my lungs. Our bodies and tongues conform together, and the heat of him emits my skin. His lip ring digs into my bottom lip, but I want more.  Begging him closer, I breathe him in, tasting him, wanting to feel him as much possible before we part again.

Now Back To Book 1

Book Description
(From Goodreads)

Ella and Micha have been best friends since they were kids. But one tragic night shatters their friendship and their lives forever.

Ella used to be a rule-breaker with fiery attitude who wore her heart on her sleeve. But she left everything behind when she went to college and transformed into someone that follows the rules, keeps everything together, and hides all her problems. But now it's summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home.

Ella fears everything she worked so hard to bury might resurface, especially with Micha living right next door. If Micha tries to tempt the old her back, she knows that it will be hard to resist.

Micha is sexy, smart, confident, and can get under Ella’s skin like no one else can. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. And he’s determined to bring his best friend, and the girl he loves back, no matter what it takes.

(New Adult Contemporary)

My Review
(Thank you to the Author, for providing a Review Copy.)

I'm so glad to have read this story. I have read so many good things, and as I read this, I enjoyed it as well. What really connected me to the story, were the characters. Ella and Micha...let's face it, they are just meant to be. They both have had their tough pasts and are still continuing to somehow conquer their issues. In the beginning, there is a stunning and dark event that they face together, but something that night scares the heck out of Ella, so much that she quickly flees to a College in Las Vegas. Micha tries looking and looking for, but without any success. Eight months pass by, and Ella is somewhat a new type of girl, or that's what she's telling herself, as she mentions nothing of her past to her roommate and new friend, Lila. They both go back to Ella's hometown, where she dreadfully knows that she is going to have to face Micha. Well, they do meet again, and it's a bittersweet reunion, but Micha, you can just tell, that he still cares about Ella, the one that he has known since they were kids. He doesn't know how he is going to get through to her, to make her like the Ella he once knew, and Ella is not sure about a lot because she's back at a place that has not changed at all, and she wants to be this new person that she has become at College, but Micha brings back the old her, and that scares her in some ways, and now, their ever so close friendship is on the brink to either non-existent or to something better...

The characters were written so well. There are some traits in Ella that I found relatable. Micha is described to be one hot guy that happens to know music and is pretty good with a guitar and he was just a really good guy with his own set of issues, yeah, but he has heart, and I really liked reading when he did pour out some deep feelings. Reading from both of their POVs was helpful and I believe so much needed. Ella and Micha just have a chemistry that's undeniable, and I was pretty happy on how things went, I'm not even going to hide it, but there are great scenes, some sexy ones, I might add, that you can just feel how much they feel for one another. The writing throughout was very nice, and had an excellent flow, and I think all I can write now, is I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, because there are still some questions that were left unanswered and there are new situations, and I just look forward to what happens next for Ella and Micha.

My Rating: 4.5/5
I say between a Strong PG-13 & Mild R Rating (Some Language & Sexual Situations)
