Yet, another Update.

Hey everyone. Hope you are all enjoying summer break :)

This is just another update. This summer, I won't be participating in many blog tours, because I just don't have that extra pocket of time, and I still have Reviews to catch up on from previous blog tours, so this summer, you will see a few new Blog Tour Posts and other Book Reviews, a few times a week. From the 23rd to the 27th of June, there will be four blog tour posts on my new blog:   My Love For Films & Novels. There will be two new reviews, and there will be two that I will post soon; I just don't think I will read those fast enough before my dates.

Again, I haven't found the time to update this blog, and that will be happening...sometime this summer. These past couple of months, I've just been super stressful, (the neck pain I receive occasionally & headaches does not help either) and without getting personal, I'm just dealing with a few  personal matters, and I just started a course for summer semester, so reading books, writing film reviews and even writing my WIP have been the last things on my to do list, so that's been a bummer because I really want to be further along with my book, but that will have to wait a little more. I still have a lot of e-mails to catch up on, and seeing how many emails I have is crazy, but I will answer as much as I can each week.

Giveaways...I have to still pick winners for some, so that will be happening later this week, early next week. I do have one going on right now: The Englishman By: Nina Lewis. Click below to check that one out:

http://myloveforfilmsandnovels.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-englishman-by-nina-lewis-promo-post.html

As you see above and on the side of this blog, this blog will be closing, and it will, once I have updated everything, including the tabs. All emails that I have still to answer that include review requests, interviews, giveaways etc. will be posted most likely on my new blog, we'll see... I still have to figure that one.

Ummm....I guess that's it right now. There is one blog tour post that I forgot to post on the 16th (ah not good) but I will post that this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

**18+ Blog Tour Stop** Epilogue (The Dark Duet #2.5) By: C.J. Roberts *ARC Review & US Giveaway*

Hey everyone! Sorry this post is late. I'm really excited to be a part of C.J. Robert's Epilogue Blog Tour, where we finally read Caleb's POV! Below, you'll see the Book & Author Info, my Mini Review, because seriously, I don't want to give any big spoilers if you're really looking forward to this book, or if you have not read Books 1 & 2. Also, the Author is sponsoring an Autographed Copy of Epilogue (yay!). This will be available to US Readers only! I personally will gift an e-book of either Book 1, 2 OR 3, so if you win and have not read any of the books and want to start with Book 1, you can, if you win that is :)

*I highly advise, those that are 18+ continue with this post, and participate in the Giveaway. Thank you*

Book 1 Description Via Goodreads

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

Book 2 Description Via Goodreads

BOOK TWO OF THE DARK DUET

The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.

What is the price of redemption?

Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.

The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.

Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?

Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

Quote
It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie.

Now...Book 3 Description Via Goodreads :)

BOOK 3 OF THE DARK DUET

I’m writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well.

Who am I?

Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I was a whore in my youth, a killer since my adolescence, and a monster as a man. I am the man who kidnapped Livvie. I am the man who held her in a dark room for weeks. But, most importantly, I am the man she loves.

She loves me. It’s quite sick, isn’t it?

Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own.

You’re reading this because you want to know about the rest of the story. You want to know what happened that warm summer night in September of 2010, the night I met Livvie at The Paseo. It was the night my life changed all over again.

It didn’t happen exactly as Livvie said. She’s been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more…complicated.

My Mini Epilogue Review
Because...I Don't Want To Give Too Many Spoilers... Until The Release :)
(Thanks to the Author for the ARC!)

While I was reading, I found myself wanting to go back and reading books 1 and 2. It's been a long time since I've read them, and perhaps later this summer, I'll write Reviews Books 1 & 2. Anyway, now to Epilogue. This novel looks into Caleb's POV and honestly, I really liked it; we finally see what his thoughts are, in the present and from the past, and I say they are so much needed! Roberts knows just what the readers want :)

Epilogue takes place at a good length of time *not spoling it ;) * after Book 2. Yes, Caleb and Livvie meet again, but have different names now, for a reason, but I'll refer them to their real names. Anyway, they are at a different place in the world now, and again, we are in Caleb's mind and he tells and shows us from meeting a surprised Livvie, to actually them forming a somewhat normal relationship. Since the situation that separated these two, Livvie has made a nice life for herself, with new friends, and enjoying college life, but are things as nice as they seem? Especially now that Caleb is back in her life, can they really form a...relationship, with their past? You will get a lot of answers in this story, answers that you most definitely have been waiting for.

Ok, I gotta say, I really liked this story. I also liked Book 1 & 2 and they each have their different ways of presenting an excellent dark story, and to me this story lead me to a lighter side of two characters that have faced so much in their lives. I liked the way Roberts write, as she gives a good amount of story/character background, and her writing has a flow that had me reading to the next page. I liked this side of Caleb, where he tries to act different with Livvie, but sometimes his past attitude comes out, and I'm not going to write when, but that...kinkiness does come out. I believe that the relationship they start to form is realistic and there is explanation from both sides, of how they hope things could work out, and there is of course talk of the past and that does eventually come back to haunt them at different times, especially with Caleb, and you'll read when. Overall, this was written well and the story itself kept just kept me hooked on two characters that I have been wanting to read more about, well since Book 2. Without giving away the ending, I think how this individual story concludes is good, but it did lead me to want more, and I guess I'll always want to read more, when it concerns these excellently written characters. If you read Book 1 & 2, this 3rd one is a must!

My Rating: 4.5/5
Rated R! 18+ *Mature Language & Sexual Content...and Caleb ;)

After Math By: Denise Grover Swank *Excerpt, Guest Post & Review*

Scarlett Goodwin’s world is divided into Before and After.

Before she agreed to tutor Tucker Price, college junior Scarlett was introvert, struggling with her social anxiety disorder and determined to not end up living in a trailer park like her mother and her younger sister. A mathematics major, she goes to her classes, to her job in the tutoring lab, and then hides in the apartment she shares with her friend, Caroline.

After junior Tucker Price, Southern University’s star soccer player enters the equation, her carefully plotted life is thrown off its axis. Tucker’s failing his required College Algebra class. With his eligibility is at risk, the university chancellor dangles an expensive piece of computer software for the math department if Scarlett agrees to privately tutor him. Tucker’s bad boy, womanizer reputation makes Scarlett wary of any contact, let alone spending several hours a week in close proximity.

But from her first encounter, she realizes Tucker isn’t the person everyone else sees. He carries a mountain of secrets which she suspects hold the reason to his self-destructive behavior. But the deeper she delves into the cause of his pain, the deeper she gets sucked into his chaos. Will Scarlett find the happiness she’s looking for, or will she be caught in Tucker’s aftermath?

Book Excerpt

I go into the bathroom and change before I get Tucker’s water. When I return, he’s snoring again. I set the water on the nightstand then turn toward the door.
“Why are you always running away from me?”
I look over my shoulder and his eyes are closed, but the back of his forearm covers his forehead. “You were asleep. I didn’t want to bother you.”
“Where are you going? This is your bed.”
“It’s okay. I’m going to sleep on the sofa.”
He pushes himself into a sitting position. “No, Scarlett. It’s your bed. You should sleep here.”
“It’s okay, really. You need to sleep it off.”
“Please. Stay.” He reaches for me, hopelessness washing off of him in thick waves.
Hypnotized by the despair in his eyes, I sink to the edge of the mattress.
He smiles, but it’s sad. He slips his hand into mine. “See? That wasn’t so hard.”
“Tucker…I can’t… I’m not…”
“I know, Scarlett. I would never ask you to. I’m still drunk, and you deserve better than that.”
The sincerity in his words freezes the air in my lungs.
He pulls me down next to him, and I find myself unable to resist.
We’re both on our sides, facing each other. He releases my hand and reaches for the side of my face, brushing the hair off my cheek. His fingertips barely touch my skin, yet send shivers down my back. My stomach clenches.
“Sweet, sweet Scarlett.” His palm presses against my cheek as his fingers dig into my hair.
I close my eyes, my stomach tightening even more.
“I’ve never felt this with anyone. Ever,” he murmurs, his words fading.
Neither have I remains unsaid, but buried in my heart.
My panic builds like a storm in the back of my head. How can I be lying next to Tucker Price? How can I let him affect me so? But part of me is tired of basing every single decision in my life on reasoned and thought-out choices. Part of me wants to live.
I can’t help thinking about my conversation with Caroline days ago, when I told her that one didn’t live a little or a lot, they simply lived.
I finally get it.
Nevertheless, I can’t give any part of myself to this man. There may be a hidden window to his soul, but it is not my job to plumb its depths. I’m neither experienced nor jaded enough to survive the attempt.
But maybe I can steal this moment. Just for tonight
