Interview With Author Toni Aleo

- First, tell us a little about you : )
* Hi! My name is Toni Aleo. I am a mommy of two and a bulldog, plus a wife of almost 10 years to my amazing husband. I love to spend time with my family and friends, and also anything Disney is my stuff! I also loooooove Hockey!!

Book Q’s:

- What motivated you to write Empty Net?
* I had a friend that basically was Audrey. She had all the crap with the guy happen and unfortunately she hasn’t met her Tate, but I hope reading my book helps her to see that he is out there.

- What is the inspiration behind Tate?
* My husband, he is basically all of my heroes. He loves me so much and his love makes me write these amazing guys.

- What do you want readers to get from your story?
I want them to feel for my characters and know that their happily ever after is out there.

- Which woman character has been your favorite to write?
Hmmm…probably Audrey. She means a lot to me.

- Which male character has been your favorite to write? And I understand if it could be tough to choose : )
* Oh goodness, probably Lucas. He is just so cocky! I am having fun with Erik though, he is the hero for the fourth book.

- How many more stories are going to be in the Assassins series?
* I am 7 outlined so far.

- Now, I’ve seen on your Blog that you’re working on a new story to this series (So excited!! Haha). Which characters will you be writing about, or if you have not revealed yet, when do you think you will reveal, because like other fans, I definitely want to know! : )
Blue Lines will follow Piper and Erik’s story. They are thrown together after a surprise pregnancy. They are going to be amazing, and hopefully get their happily ever after.

Other Q’s:

- When did you first realize that you wanted to become a writer?
Everyone always ask me this, and I honestly don’t know. I guess now. I just made the decision to make this my career. I think I was testing the waters, and just trying it out. Now that I am three books in and basically committed to my readers, I don’t think I am going anywhere else.

- Now, I love the Assassins Series! But if you were to write something else totally different, what would it be?
* Mmm hot yummy cowboys! Hehehe!

- For aspiring writers, do you have any advice for them?
Just write. Don’t let anyone stop you. Write whats in your heart!

- Have you read any books lately? Which ones?
Yeah, I’ve picked up Dublin St. But I haven’t been able to read much of it. I’ve been writing a lot.

- Do you have a favorite film?
* Oh goodness yes, Pride and Prejudice.

- Favorite guilty pleasure TV show?
Doc McStuffins. I know it’s a kid show but I just love it!

- What is your dream location for a vacation?
Disney! Lol. If not that, then Italy.

- Thank you so much for your time in answering these Q’s! I definitely look forward to the next book in your fabulous series!
* Thanks so very much for having me!!!

More About The Author
I am a wife, mother, and hopeless romantic.

I have been told I have anger issues, but I think it’s cause of my intense love for hockey!

I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!

When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughters dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, and reading the latest romance novel.

I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, and did I mention I love hockey?

Now, More About Empty Net

Definition of an Empty Net: When a team pulls the goalie for an extra attacker, desperately seeking a goal.

Audrey Parker was in a horrible place.
She hated her job, her sister was getting married and moving out, but worst of all, she was in love with a total jerk. No matter what she did, every guy she met hurt her. All she wanted was her happily ever after. Her Prince Charming. Her Lucas Brooks! She didn’t know how to change her life but she knew she needed too.
Feeling like she was about to hit rock bottom, Audrey wakes up next to Tate Odder.

Tate Odder had lost everything.
After being brought up from the Assassins’ farm team, the Florida Rays to the Nashville Assassins, Tate hopes he’ll forget everything he has lost. He doesn’t. Each day gets harder to live in a place he doesn’t know. Even being the first rookie goalie to shut out an opposing team three times during the Lord Stanley Cup Finals, he still felt empty. With the loss of his parents and sister still heavy on his heart, Tate isn’t sure how to live like everything is okay.

But when he wakes up beside Audrey Parker, things start to change. She turns his life upside down with her kooky sense of humor and her bright clothing. She is intelligent and beautiful, and for once, he doesn’t feel empty.
Will Audrey be the person to fill the holes in Tate’s heart, making him whole again?
Or will another player ruin everything, leaving him feeling forever like an empty net?

Review

Oh. My. Goodness! This was a beautiful, gut-wrenching, and just one breathtaking story! If you have read Taking Shots and Trying To Score, you will love Empty Net, just love it! If you have read one of the first two (like me) be sure to read the other story, because, of what I have read so far, the characters and story/plot are just so refreshing and intriguing; you will not be able stop reading them! For me, I still have not read Taking Shots, but that is on my TBR List, because after reading about them in this one and Trying To Score, I definitely want to read about how Shea and Elli fell in love, so just know, these, I say are stand alone books, but they do include some of the favorite characters in each story, so that's a definite plus!

Now, back to Empty Net! After reading Trying To Score, I was just so excited to read about Audrey's story, because at the end of that story (sorry, just a little spoiler) and the beginning of this story, we see her with a guy that she thinks she desperately loves, but he...does not love her back, and just wants one thing from her...you guess what it is. Anyway, after having her heart crushed by this jerk, he breaks it off with her, and Audrey does something she has never done before and that's having a one night stand. But it's with someone, that surprisingly she has not met yet, but happens to be her neighbor, and the New Hot Goalie (From Sweden!) on the Assassins Hockey Team. This lovely young man is Tate Odder. After their one night stand, they have this pull towards each other that is undeniable, but they decide to be friends? Well, actually Audrey decides it for them, because she just does not know more about Tate, and just does not know and trust that he is her Prince Charming guy, the one she is meant to be with forever, and that is what she wants, because all of her relationships up until now, have not been so great, so what do they decide?... You'll just have to read to find out, and I promise, you'll love what they decide! :)

First, what I loved about this story, were the characters. They are just so well written, and you can feel what their personalities would be like if you met them tomorrow. I love Audrey. She is just one cool, spunky, hilarious woman, and I just loved reading her lines, and I felt for her at times, because she has had some bad times in her past, including the bad relationships, getting her heart broken too many times, and a past situation that is even hard to tell her sister, Fallon about. So, I felt she was a wonderful relatable character that also has mad skills in creating some excellent cupcakes! :)

Now, onto Tate. He is described to be, well let's face it, extremely Hot! And he has an accent! (Love that!) As I was reading, I literally heard a Swedish Accent, when reading Tate's dialogue, so that was pretty nice :) But, he has had an  unfortunate tough year, losing his family, and just coping with that is just so hard for him to do, and I can understand that, but for him, it's like he has a saving grace, and that would be Audrey, and let me just say, he is just one sexy gentleman with her. I'm serious, they have a beautiful romance that just seeps through the pages, and I think he is one male character to definitely not forget; he was just wonderful to read about and has some hidden talents that you have to read and find for yourself.

Also, as I have mentioned, the romance is FREAKING HOT, let me say that much. The scenes, I think, were really written extremely well, and Oh My, you again, just have to read for yourself, the Passion that Tate and Audrey feel for one another, it's just perfect! And you have to read about the Hockey Games that occur with the Assassins playing, of course! ;)

Toni is one Amazing Author, and I believe this story was just a perfect amount, and I admit, I wanted more, but I believe it ended just right. After reading, you get an idea of what the next Book in this series is going to be about, and all I have to say is, I Cannot Wait For Blue Lines!! :)

My Rating: 4.8/5
Definitely Rated R! (Language and Strong Sexual Scenes)
I Recommend 18+
