Book Description
"We have a new assignment for you, Mr. Reinhardt."
These words are not comforting to me. At eighteen, I am a gargoyle who has been demoted because I broke the rules. Now I have a new mission, a new mark to protect. But I don't expect Emma Chase. I don't expect to question my own race. I don't expect to care for my own mark. And I am not prepared for what I find at The Acropolis.
Review
This was one interesting and intense story! What really connected to me to the story, was to read how well the characters were written. We read two POVs and they are from Conor and Emma. Conor is a Gargoyle from a well known family and his next assignment is to bring a young adult girl, Emma, to The Acropolis, a special school. Now, Emma does not know what she actually is, and it might be the reason for her so called strange illness that was discovered six years prior. Also, she is not used to be around a lot of people, only her adoptive Mother, so unexpectedly leaving her is so hard on Emma, and Conor, and his friends realize that Emma is yes very shy, but she has some crazy episodes where she can be uncontrollable, and even thought they don't know each other, Conor knows that he has to help Emma; help her to ultimately become who she is meant to be, even though, technically they should not be friends, and you will read why...
This was a different and intriguing story that I liked very much. Conor was indeed a wonderful made lead and Emma, oh my heart felt for her at times, as I can just feel the unsteady emotions that she sometimes felt, and she may seem like a broken person, but some of the pieces do get picked up, and along with understanding who she really is, she now has to act and be that someone, and by the end, I wanted to read more, and now look forward to reading the second book! :)
My Rating: 4/5
I Say Rated PG-13 (Some Language)

About This Author
I am a Native Mississippian who started writing in elementary school. I was a reserved child who threw away almost everything I wrote. Later, when I was older, I discovered the crumpled pieces of my work in a box in my mother's hope chest. When I asked her why she saved the work, she replied,
"What you considered trash, I considered genius."
It has been my motto ever since. My mother passed in 2005. She is missed.
I am the scatterbrained (no lie) mother of three, and I live in Mississippi with my husband and three divalicious daughters and a female shitszu (also a diva)named Tinkerbell. My poor husband!
Redemption is a three book series following young, brash Dayton Blainey. The first two books are now available on Amazon.com for kindle and in print.
