Guest Post: What Actors I See As My Characters

First, I would like to thank Marissa for hosting me here today.  I am very excited about being here on “For the Love of Film and Novels”, and having the guest post about what actors I see as my characters.

To me, this was quite an undertaking, since I don’t watch much television. I started searching the web for actors/actresses who I felt would fit within each of my characters personalities.

I envy whoever has to choose an actor for a part; there are so many talented actors/actresses out there today. It was hard to pick just one.

The Chimera are a beautiful species of people, so finding  characters to fill their shoes was not as hard as I thought it would be.

I started with the men.  Develon Cole, who is a Chimera, has been searching for two-hundred and eighty-eight years for his sodalis, his mate. When the vivid dreams with a young woman named Shelby O’Neil begins, he knows he has at last found his sodalis, his life would now finally be complete. I choose Eric Bana from Australia. He played the role of Bruce Banner (The Hulk), Steven Spielburg’s, Munich and The Villain, Nero, in Star Trek.  Eric is a lot like Develon, he is a serious character, with extremely high standards.

Stephen, is a fun, charismatic young man. I had no trouble filling his role.  I choose Zac Efron as Stephan.  What a heart throb. I believe Stephen is exactly that, a heart throb, and I know all the girls will fall instantly in love with Stephen, not only for his boyishly good looks, but for his strong, carefree personality.

It took me a while to choose the actor to play Gavin, but I finally found him in Alex Pettyfer, from I am number four and Beastly. I see Gavin as an extremely intense individual, and Alex fits perfectly into this role.

For my last male character, Leandro, I choose, Ian Somerhalder, from the Vampire Diaries. I choose Ian because Leandro is handsome, strong, charming and smug. Leandro needs a strong male actor to play his role. Leandro has a lot mystery surrounding his character and Ian fit perfectly.

There is not as many women in Transition, the story revolves around The Chimera Hunters, who are all men.

Shelby O’Neil, a sophomore at Washington State University, has been dreaming nightly with the same man. In these dreams, she spends time with a man she has never met, but finds herself instantly drawn to. Having led a sheltered and innocent life as a home-schooled only child, she relishes this curious dream romance. I choose Linda Bella, a French actress. She is one of the actresses in the new movie, Monsters in the Woods. The novel hit the shelves in February.

Jen, who is Shelby’s only friend, is full of mischief and life. She is always on the go and talking the entire time. She is a pretty girl and the men seem to be drawn to her bubbly personality. I choose Hayden Panettier from Heroes and I Love you Beth Cooper to play the role of Jen.

Adrianna, Stephen’s sister was also a hard character to fill. She comes across as a hard, uncaring woman. But, Adrianna has a gentle, loving side to her as well.  I choose Aimee Teegarden from, Friday Night Lights, and star of Disney's new flick "Prom."

There are other characters in Transition, The Chimera Hunters Series, but these are the ones who stand out for me, and are up front- in your face characters.

I am sure there are others who would play the roles brilliantly, but these are the ones who stand out in my imagination.

Book Description
The Chimera are a race so old, the humans relegated them as a myth. The Gods feared the Chimeras’ powers; they believed they were a deadly race, with physical abilities beyond belief. So, they split their race in half condemning them to wander the earth, searching for their other half to be complete. Without their sodalis, each was destined to live life without dreams, without love, without hope. The future rested on finding their one true mate for life.

SHELBY O’NEIL has led a solitary life with her parents. So when she goes to school at Washington State University, she believes her life has just begun. Now in her second year, the dreams begin. She dreams with the same man, night after night for months. When her dream world becomes her reality, and her life becomes a danger zone, she quickly learns to trust the one man who has thrown her into this new and dangerous world.

DEVELON COLE is Chimera and his race has been on earth as long as humans. His people were desperate to find their one true mate for life, and Develon had just found his, in the small college town of Pullman Washington.
