Book Description
(From Goodreads)

Only when you let go can you learn to live.

Between the death of her mother and pushing through law school without her best friend, it's been a tough year for Becca. Needing a break from Boston, she moves to a tiny coastal North Carolina town for a relaxing summer. After bumping heads repeatedly with a local cop, she realizes her summer will be anything but quiet.

Three years after a career ending injury ruins his chance to play Major League Baseball, Gavin has a distrust of northerners and lately girls in general. He wants nothing to do with a girl who is only in town for the summer.

When the two give in to their impossible attraction, they realize that they may just have found the key to freeing themselves from the ghosts of their pasts.

My Review
(Thanks to the Author, for providing an ARC)
After reading Derailed, I really looked forward into reading Gavin's story, because from the first book, I just thought he was a great guy, and even though he and Molly were not meant to be, there was someone out there for him, and that happens to be Molly's best friend from College, Becca. She ends up staying in Clayton Falls for the summer, for a law office position, and her first night, she ends up meeting Gavin. They get off to a rocky start but after one unplanned evening together, there are undeniable sparks that bring these two characters together, but will Becca's insecurities bring their relationship down? Or is Gavin just what she needs to start a new chapter in her life?

I believe there was a very good story here, there was conflict, joyous and lovely scenes, and realistic situations. There was a good flow, and I think the characters were also written well, including Gavin and Becca. Gavin had a physical injury interfere that hurt his baseball dream. Becca just lost her Mom, does not have an existent relationship with her Father, and doesn't know what she's going to do next after her last year of law school. I think their issues were explained well into conversations and narration, and oh, it was nice to read from both of their perspectives, so that was very helpful, to understand what they are both feeling. All in all, this was a very nice New Adult Contemporary Romance, and I look forward to the third book, Jake's story.

My Rating: 4/5
I say a PG-13 Rating (Some Sexual Situations)
