Release date: November 15, 2012
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age Group: New Adult
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.
Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.
With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.
But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

I was born in Arkansas and have lived here most of my life, except the
couple of times when I lived in Pennsylvania. I started my first novel at the
age of thirteen and have been writing something ever since. Generally, I
love characters in life and on paper. I pay attention to people, especially those
whose personalities make them different from the rest of us: the drug addict
roaming the Laundromat that talks to himself, the young, inattentive mother in
the park with the meanest kid on the playground – (the entire cast of ‘Swamp
People’) – characters fascinate me and I hope that it shows in my literary
work.

My Review
(Thanks to the Author for Providing a Review Copy)
I have heard so much rave over this novel for the past few months, and now, I can write, that I'm part of the rave, because The Edge Of Never, really was well written by an Author that just knows how to tell a story, with characters that face realistic situations. The story itself, had a good flow, and it is long, and I'm really happy it is, because, you read about Camryn's and Andrew's journey together, and there was just enough story, enough plot, to make me turn the pages, with anticipation in what's going to happen next.
I really believe the characters were, again, just written to a degree, that I felt they were believable, and this especially goes for Camryn and Andrew. Their feelings, situations, backgrounds, and attraction were just all there. I liked that there were alternate POVs as it did help understand these two better. From the beginning, we see two people, Camryn, with having no sense of direction, just no idea where she wants to go, until she meets Andrew on a bus, and from there, they have this interesting bond, a friendship that creates into something beautiful and along the way, they become so close, emotionally and intimately, that there is no way that they could be a part ever, well except one thing, that Andrew knows about, and well, let me say, without really giving anything big away, because I really think you just have to read on your own, but my initial reaction to the 'thing' was "oh crap" and towards the end, I had no clue what would happen. It could have gone either way, but in the end, there is a stunning ending that...felt good, like there's an assurance that everything is going to be all right, even though there is a horrific situation that occurs. Watch the pages, for that moment, because for me, I really do. not. get. emotional. when reading, but what happens here, just really got to me, and I actually liked that, because that means that this story can be so relatable, and the writer has done a very nice job in transporting me to other people's lives.
I think I've said a lot about the writing, but I'll write it again... this Author writes one incredible story! To me, Camryn, Andrew, Camryn's friend Natalie, and other characters felt realistic and relatable, and I like to find those aspects in stories, I just do, and this one was way good on that. Now, the friendship that leads to one mega relationship between Camryn and Andrew, felt like things did not go too fast, but just right. There are sex scenes here, and as it says in the book description, I also would recommend this novel for readers 17+ because of that and language. Ok, and this might make me blush, ahh ok too late, but even the sex scenes were written, hmm how do I say this...well I think that there was not too much, but there was enough, to give us a sense that these characters have moved onto another level in their relationship, and with those scenes included, it also just felt right and believable. As the story went, I can feel that these two really fall for one another, and there are other good scenes that shows that.
I'm really glad I've read this story, as it did leave me wanting a bit more, but like I wrote, there was an assurance that things are going to be good, and so I left the story, the last page, with a good feeling, and I recommend this story to those that love Romance, Realistic Situations, Road Trips, and just a novel that has pretty good originality :)
My Rating: 4.5/5
