Destiny Gift by Juliana Haygert
Series: Everlast, #1
Publication: April 9th 2013
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Synopsis:
Thirty years in the future, a sinister New York City exists in permanent darkness.
A student at the secured NYU, nineteen-year-old Nadine has visions of Victor Gianni, an imaginary guy she has real feelings for. Afraid of being truly insane, she explains the visions away as simple daydreams, but she can no longer deny them when she bumps into Victor in real life. But this Victor doesn’t know her, and turns her away. After the encounter, Nadine’s visions change to those of eerie fates, gods she’s never heard of, demons with sharp claws they are not too timid to use … and instructions.
To discover if she’s losing her mind, Nadine follows the vague directions—with the real, rude and reluctant Victor—leading to a man who knows it all: Nadine can restore an ancient creed by unveiling the clues on her visions, and bring sunlight and peace to the world again. But that’s only if the demons and the other evil forces behind the darkness don’t stop her first.

My Interview with The Author :)
What inspired you to write…?
My husband. No, seriously, we were
talking books and ideas, and he always said I had to write one about gods and
mythology, because he loves this kind of stuff. So, he asked, what if you wrote
about immortals gods, and then, one of them dies – for real. They thought they
were immortal, but they aren’t! And, from that, the rest came to me pretty
easily.
How long did it take to write?
About a month. When I’m obsessed about
an idea, I can’t stop writing it.
Do you mostly write during the day or night? Or
whenever?
During the
day, because that’s when my kid is in school.
Which character(s) were the most fun writing?
Ha, Micah, no doubt. When I first
came up with him, Micah was different. He was supposed to be a thorn in
Nadine’s and Victor’s path … but he evolved so much, and he became much more.
And I won’t say more about it because I’m pretty close to spoilers already ;)
Which actors do you see playing the main
characters?
This is a hard question to answer, because they are
unique in my head while I’m writing, but … since I get this question a lot,
here is the list:
Alexis
Knapp as Nadine, Evandro Soldati as Victor, Sean O’Pry as Micah, Taylor
Schilling as Ceris, Scarlett Johansson as Imha, Karl Urban as Omi, Viggo
Mortensen as Morgan.
How long have you been writing?
Since I was 13yo. But pursuing publication, since
2009.
Where is your favorite place to write?
Not my house lol Seriously, I have my pretty office
and all, but I focus better and am way more productive when I’m not home …
What are you currently working on?
I’m revising Breaking the Reins, my upcoming contemp
romance, so I can send it to my editor next week. And then I’ll start drafting
The Everlast #2 …
Who are your ultimate favorite Authors?
Richelle
Mead, no doubt.
What
are your favorite genres to read?
The same ones I write: UF, contemp, PNR,
fantasy … (I’m very eclectic).
What are you currently reading?
Strength by Carrie
Butler and Off Sides by Sawyer Bennett.
All
time favorite film that you can see endlessly, and you have practically
memorized all the lines?
Beauty
and the Beast, King Lion, Pocahontas, Aladdin, and ALL Disney classics ;)
What TV show do you have to see on a daily basis?
On
a daily basis, none. But I’m into Heroes (yeah, I’m late to that), Falling
Skies, Game of Thrones, Spartacus, TVD, Beauty and the Beast, Nikita, Touch.
Favorite
guilty pleasure television show?
Kickin’ It – I watch it with my daughter lol
